On-going support and training
All our volunteers receive regular newsletters and information on training programmes relevant to their role and for their interest. Some of the areas recently covered have been Drugs, First Aid, Diversity, Child Protection Sharing with other Volunteers and Agency Visits. We organise three volunteer socials annually including a Christmas pop in, Meal out and a Summer BBQ. We also have our Annual General Meeting where all volunteers, staff and those interested in Bradford Nightstop's work can come along and find out about our annual progress.
Volunteer hosts are matched up as part of the initial training process with mentor hosts who they are encouraged to meet in order to chat through their experiences, share advice and support.
All our volunteers are a such a dynamic and vital part of our organisation that we really do try and make sure they feel valued and supported throughout their involvement with Bradford Nightstop. Hopefully we manage to do this as many of our volunteers have stayed with us from the very beginning of Bradford Nightstop in the garage of our founders house.
If you are reading this thinking of getting involved do not hesitate to call us and talk it through. If you already volunteer with us then THANK YOU. We couldn't support the 700+ young people who made a referral to us last year without YOUR valuable time, skills and support.
