Applying to be a volunteer
Contact the Office
Anyone interested in volunteering for Bradford Nightstop should contact the office on 01274 776888 or email administrator@bradfordnightstop.org.uk and ask for an information pack.
Information Pack
This pack includes basic information about the various ways in which volunteers can be involved in Bradford Nightstop's work. Once a potential volunteer has received the pack they may feel ready to complete the enclosed application form which includes a request for two references and which role(s) the potential volunteer is interested in. If they want support in completing this form or have any immediate concerns they should call the office.
Initial Meeting and Training
Once an application is received one of the staff team will arrange a meeting when we discuss the application further and organise training. If the applicant wants to be a volunteer host this meeting would always be in their home so that we can see this and room which is being offfered.
References and CRB Checks
All potential volunteers have an enhanced Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check and Bradford Nightstop also takes up references.
Initial Training Course
All volunteers complete an initial training course and are given a Bradford Nightstop Handbook. The training is often on a one to one basis but sometimes it is in a small group. All volunteers are approved by the Management Committee and in the case of Volunteer Hosts this includes a member of the Management Committee and worker completing a Management Visit.
