Fundraising
We would welcome aboard anyone who would like to organise small or big fund raising events!
Unfortunately, however much volunteers keep our service running on a day to day basis, without money fundraised by local organisations, individuals, and donated by business' then Nightstop would not be able to operate. It costs approximately £15 per night to accommodate a young person overnight and £7 for travel costs. However, YOU can help us with this! Please do feel able to get in touch to chat to us about your fundraising ideas!
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Coffee Morning with cakes and games, old books stall, clothes sale.
Run that raffle!
Sponsored Events - ever wanted to run a 10km, half a marathon or even a marathon? Do a parachute jump or climb Mt Kilimanjaro the choice is yours, get recruiting your friends and get organising the sponsor form. Challenge yourself, achieve your goals and raise money for Nightstop at the same time!
Fancy Dress, could your group or school have a dressing up day, all make a donation for the privilege and raise easy cash for a good cause. If you are a uniformed group you could pay £1 to wear your own clothes for one week.
Set up a car wash for a day where your group meets or wash the cars of your neighbours, everyone is willing to donate some money for that job everyone puts off and this money can be used to stop young people in Bradford from sleeping rough.
Use your initiative and get thinking but most of all get doing. Bradford Nightstop will try and support you in any way we can. Contact us with your ideas and get fundraising!
Recent Fundraising Events:
The Glen Singers kindly let us organise a raffle to take place at their Chirstmas Carol Concert at Bingley Arts Centre. We raised over £1600 when added to the generous donation from the Glen Singers Ticket proceeds. THANK YOU to everyone who supported us by buying tickets, donating prizes and of course the singers who made the evening so enjoyable!
A big thank you to all involved with Bingley Rotary Club and the Beaujolais Evening, we gratefully received a cheque for £1050. This will provide vital funds for us to improve and sustain our emergency accommodation service. THANK YOU.
Following the Christmas period we have received many generous donations from churches all over the Bradford area totalling an amazing £700 from a number of very supportive churches in the area who offer Bradford Nightstop vital and continuing support throughout the year.
Last but not least, are the very 'small' donations from individuals - every pound really does make a difference!
