After a Nightstop.....what happens next?
Our volunteers will have asked the referral agency where the young person needs to go tomorrow. If the young person is coming back to them they should arrive back with a yellow follow - on card. This signifies that at the time of leaving the host their stay has been successful. A member of our office staff will phone you to let you know if the young person turned up and if the stay went well. Our staff will also liaise with you and the young person re appointments made to seek appropriate longer term accommodation. If a young person is not coming back to yourselves in the morning you may suggest where they need to go otherwise we will send them to an appropriate place to seek longer term accommodation. If a young person arrives with a yellow follow on card not issued by yourselves this indicates that the young person was referred by some other agency yesterday. The card should tell you which agency the young person was helped by yesterday. We would hope that you will liaise with that agency to help the young person find appropriate longer - term accommodation. If all attempts to find such accommodation fail, then you may re - refer the young person back to ourselves. If we have a bed the whole process begins again.
