Bradford Nightstop provides free emergency accommodation for young homeless people in the homes of trained volunteers or in a room at a local hostel. You cannot refer yourself.  You need to go to one of the following services where you will need to answer some questions about yourself. The workers will try other places such as hostels before placing you with Nightstop as Nightstop is only for one night at a time although more referrals can be made if you still require somewhere the next day.

If you are 16 or 17 and this is the first time you have been homeless please go to Bradford Housing and explain your circumstances. If they find that you cannot return to your previous accommodation they will find you somewhere to stay. This will not be a flat of your own immediately. It may be a Nightstop or you may be given a temporary place in a local hostel whilst your case is investigated. (If you have lived in the Shipley or Keighley area you may be asked to go to the Keighley Housing Advice office).

If you are 18 or older and especially vulnerable (pregnant, have a learning disability or mental health needs etc) you may be deemed as priority homeless, in which case you will be provided with temporary accommodation whilst your case is investigated.

If you have responsibility for a child, temporary accommodation will be provided for you whilst your case is investigated.

If you are over 18 and not especially vulnerable unless your house has been badly affected by flood or fire or you are fleeing violence including domestic violence, you can visit Bradford Housing to get advice but they are not obligued to find you anywhere.

It is best to visit with various forms of ID and you may need evidence of benefits.
