Organising your own event
We are happy for individuals or groups to organise fundraising on our behalf. If you would like to receive hand outs etc before your event please let us know. If you would like a member of staff or one of our volunteers to say a few words or be available at an event please let us know in good time. This may not always be possible but we will try.
Be creative and confident in organising your event, it's your enthusiasm that will encourage others to come along and get involved. If you're new to fundraising we reccommend you start off with small, well organised events that are carefully planned and can be managed by you. Here are some ideas:
Have a coffee morning, play games, sell cakes. Ask at your local school or at a community hall to use their facilities or use your own home/garage/garden.
Running a car wash, be sure this has been arranged with safety in mind if taking place near a busy road.
Having a bring and buy sale or clothes, toy or book swap session
Run a marathon and receive sponsors from your friends, colleagues and family. Get fit in the process and raise much needed funds for Nightstop. You don't have to start with the big one but there are lots of other shorter distance runs/fun runs where you can build up your running and fundraising skills!
Have a sponsored event of an different type (being silent is a good one!).
We are sure you can think of plenty of other ways too.
Most of all have fun and take a photo that we can use in our Annual Report if possible.
Let us know what you're doing and we can support you in a number of ways.
Good Luck!
